The UNAUSA will be hosting two talks as part of the Great Decisions 2016 series. The topics relate to the Syria Crisis.
Part I is entitled “ISIS: Who are they and what do they want” and will take place this coming Thursday, September 22nd at 7:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 10 Higby Rd., Utica.
The Syria Crisis Part II “Key Players and the secret strategy of Al Qaeda” will take place Thursday, September 29th at 7:00 PM at the Church also.
Both presentations will be given by Dr. Robert L’Arrivee, visiting assistant professor at Colgate, who is currently teaching a course there on “Islam and Politics”. Dr. L’Arrivee received his undergraduate degree from Winnepeg Univ. and his MA and doctorate from the University of Notre Dame. One of his students, who has worked as an intern in Washington DC, studying various Islamic groups in
Syria, will be co-presenter.
If for any reason you miss the first talk, be sure to come to the second, but hopefully, you will be at both! We look forward to seeing you. Diane Stebbins, sec. UNAUSA of the Upper Mohawk Valley.
